YENA PARK REOPENS JULY 8TH
We are excited to announce that the transformation of Yena Park is nearly complete, and the construction fence is scheduled to be removed Tuesday, July 8, 2026.
Beginning July 8, residents are invited to enjoy the many new recreational amenities throughout the park. While the park is reopening for public use, portions of the site contain newly established green infrastructure that needs time to mature.
The softball and soccer fields will remain closed to organized play until Spring 2027. Allowing the turf additional time to establish will help ensure healthy, durable playing fields for years to come.
The Community Park District is planning to host a community-wide Grand Reopening Celebration and Ribbon Cutting in Spring 2027.
EXPLORE YENA PARK Yena Park has been thoughtfully designed to provide recreation, gathering spaces, and environmental enhancements for residents of all ages.

Nature & Sustainability
Yena Park is more than a recreational destination, it is also an investment in the community's environmental future. The park includes:
• Bioswale to improve stormwater management • Native prairie and woodland plantings • Pollinator habitats • 27 newly planted trees • Crushed granite pathway leading to a woodland play nook • Green infrastructure designed to improve water quality and reduce runoff
These natural areas are an important part of the project. Please help protect them by staying on designated pathways and keeping out of planted areas.
PROJECT FUNDING
The Yena Park renovation project was made possible in part through funding provided by an Open Space Lands Acquisition and Development (OSLAD) Grant and a contribution from La Grange Park Little League, helping create a park that will serve both current and future generations.
THANK YOU
We sincerely appreciate the patience, support, and enthusiasm shown by our residents throughout the construction process. We are thrilled to welcome the community back to Yena Park and look forward to celebrating its official Grand Reopening together in Spring 2027.
