you know, Governor Pritzker has extended the Stay At Home Executive
Order through May 29th to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and help
keep our community healthy and safe. In compliance with this order
the Community Park District is cancelling the Veteran's Memorial
Service scheduled for Saturday, May 23rd, 2020 and rescheduling it
for Saturday, May 29th, 2021.
The Community Park District is asking for your help in locating the family or descendants of the following KIA soldiers so that we may honor them this May at the Veteran's Memorial.
This request is the culmination of the tireless work of Jack Ryder, a long-time resident of La Grange Park and a Veteran's Memorial volunteer. Jack spent more than two years researching and compiling a list of La Grange Park servicemen that were reported KIA and worked to ensure that they will be forever remembered here at home with a place of honor at the Veteran's Memorial. Sadly, Jack passed away before seeing the installation of the memorial bricks, and the Community Park District is dedicated to honoring his legacy, dedication, and passion by completing this project.
If you know of anyone connected to the soldiers listed below, please email Amanda Kennedy at email@example.com or call the Park District office at 708-354-4580.

The Veterans Memorial was dedicated on September 20, 2014. Our Memorial is unlike many Memorials in that it will continue to grow each year as memorial bricks are purchased and placed in the Memorial Plaza. The Community Park District of La Grange Park's Veterans Memorial was built to honor ALL active duty and military veterans whether they served in times of conflict or times of peace. We feel that it is important to recognize all of our men and women who have served or are now serving because they never knew what tomorrow would bring as they protected America. There is no better way to honor your favorite active duty or military veteran than by placing a brick in his or her honor in our Plaza.
Memorial bricks can be purchased by submitting an order form from the link below. If you have any questions you can call the park district office at 708-354-4580 and speak with Amanda Kennedy.
Something New: In response to community requests, donors who have purchased a memorial brick for the plaza will have the opportunity to buy a replica brick that can be given as a gift or kept for their own special memorial. Special prices for replica bricks are as follows: 4 x 8 Bricks are $60 and 8 x 8 Bricks are $75.
Brick orders will be placed once a year with a January 31st deadline for all orders. A replica brick order form can be found by clicking the link below.
