The Community Park District has revised our summer camp program to help provide summer day care for parents returning to work this season. The park district has implemented IDPH and CDC guidelines to ensure kinds enjoy a healthy camp experience that is safe and fun. This program is designed for kids in grades K-5 and will begin June 14. Full day programs will run from 9am-4pm with a half day option and before and after care available, depending on demand.
The Community Park District Recreation Center and outdoor park space will allow us to safely and comfortably accommodate 40 children this summer. Kids will enjoy traditional and new camp activities that are designed with social distancing requirements in mind. Each group of 10 campers will remain with the same counselors all year long, creating a unique opportunity to build meaningful friendships that could last a lifetime.

What will my child's experience be like? This year will definitely not be a typical recreational summer camp experience, but it will be fun! Activities will be based on a new theme each week. We will spend as much time outdoors as possible playing games, exploring nature, and more. We are developing a wide range of activities designed with social distancing in mind, and we will be incorporating important health related activities like regular hand-washing or sanitizing.
The most current information from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) prohibits field trips, contact sports, and water activities.
Face Coverings State and La Grange Park ordinances currently require face coverings in public spaces when social distancing is not possible. We are working hard to create an environment where appropriate social distancing is easy so participants do not need to wear their masks during the majority of the day. Currently, we will require children wear face coverings in the following situations:
Health Screenings Parents will be required to complete a health questionnaire at check-in. Staff will conduct regular symptom checks throughout the day.
Cleaning The Community Park District will follow cleaning protocol provided by the CDC. Frequently-touched surfaces will be disinfected regularly.
