Community Park District of La Grange Park 2023 Consolidated General Election Pre-Filing Notice for Candidates

The Community Park District of La Grange Park will accept nominating papers for the offices of Park District Commissioner beginning at 8:30am on Monday, December 12, 2022 and concluding at 5:00pm on Monday, December 19, 2022. Nominating papers will be accepted on business days between the hours of 8:30am and 5:00pm at the Community Park District of La Grange Park Recreation Center located at 1501 Barnsdale Road, La Grange Park, IL. The following three (3) positions are available for election:

  • Commissioner 4-year term
  • Commissioner 4-year term
  • Commissioner 2-year term**

Prospective candidates seeking the office of Park Commissioner for the Community Park District of La Grange Park may either pick up candidate packets at the Community Park District Recreation Center, 1501 Barnsdale Road, La Grange Park, IL 60526 beginning September 20, 2022, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm or packets may be obtained in PDF format for email delivery by contacting Jessica Cannaday, Executive Director at jcannaday@communityparkdistrict.org.

Candidate packets are provided as a courtesy of the Community Park District. Each candidate is urged to seek legal counsel to determine individual requirements for running for elected office.

*Persons seeking information about the process and requirements for a candidate seeking election to the above offices should consult the 2023 Candidate Guide for the Consolidated Election which can be found on the Illinois State Board of Elections website, www.elections.il.gov. Further questions regarding documents required to be filed by a candidate for election should be directed to the Illinois State Board of Elections at 312-814-6440 or to an attorney of your choice. *

Objections to Nominating Petitions: The last day to file objections to any candidate’s nominating petitions is Tuesday, December 27*, 2022. The Recreation Center will be open from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm to accept Objections. Any objections to nominating petitions must be filed with the Community Park District (who received the original petition) within 5 business days following the last day of the petition filing period as provided above. *The Community Park District Recreation Center is closed on December 23 and 26. The Community Park District has extended the deadline to file objections to accommodate the objection period of five business days.
