Regarding COVID-19

Update 3/21/2020: In accordance with Governor Pritzker’s Executive Order, the Community Park District’s facilities will be closed to the public until further notice to help mitigate the transmission of COVID-19.

The Community Park District, in conjunction with the decisions from District 102 and District 95, has postponed or cancelled all recreational programming from Tuesday, March 17 through Tuesday, April 7. This includes Ready Teddy Preschool and Footlight Players rehearsals. For these programs specifically, our staff is working diligently to create at home activities and ways to help minimize the impact of an extended break. We hope to resume most recreational operations by Wednesday, April 8.

To protect those most vulnerable to serious illness and slow the transmission of COVID-19, we have also cancelled the April 4th Easter Egg Hunt, and all senior programming until May 1. The performance of Seussical Jr. has been postponed until further notice.

As the Community Park District Summer Brochure is scheduled to be delivered during this time, we encourage you to use our phone and online registration options as you schedule your summer activities. We will make every effort to ensure that staff is available during regular operational hours to answer any questions you may have.

Please understand that as information evolves regarding COVID-19, these dates may change. We will continue to monitor the situation and communicate program specifics as they develop. Please watch your email and check back here for updates.

The Park District strongly encourages anyone exhibiting symptoms of coronavirus (fever, cough, shortness of breath) to contact a medical professional immediately. As always, it is our policy to ask that you keep your child home if they are unwell.

Please remember that good hygiene (ie. washing hands), and healthy habits (including diet and exercise) are key preventative measures at home. For more information regarding the coronavirus and how to protect yourself, please visit www.cdc.gov/covid19.
