COVID-19 MITIGATION GUIDELINE UPDATES: 2/24/2022

Throughout the pandemic response, the Community Park District of La Grange Park board and staff have worked diligently to provide safe access to essential recreational opportunities for all people. We strive to provide inclusive opportunities to improve our entire community’s overall social, emotional, and physical well-being.

Beginning Monday, February 28 we will strongly recommend, but not mandate, that participants and staff wear masks while inside park district facilities. In-line with the anticipated changes from the Cook County Department of Public Health, we will also lift the 18 and over vaccination requirement to participate in indoor programming at the Community Park District of La Grange Park. If you register for a cooperative program with one of our neighboring agencies, please know that their policies may differ. We ask that you be respectful of each organization’s COVID response procedures.

As we move forward, we will maintain stringent cleaning protocol and common sense social distancing practices. We will also continue to respond to incidents of positive close contacts, and we appreciate the continued cooperation of our families to quickly communicate any positive test results of those who participate in park district programming. Please remember, that if you are not feeling well, it is important to stay home.

As we optimistically monitor COVID data in our community, we will continue to follow all local, state, and federal mandates regarding COVID-19 mitigations.

Again, it is our mission to provide inclusive, fun, and safe opportunities for all people. We welcome all participants regardless of whether they choose to mask or not. Our staff will continue to role model acceptance, respect, and reassurance to all our participants, especially our youngest Ready Teddy students. We ask that parents help us foster a safe and inclusive atmosphere by having important discussions with their children about respecting personal boundaries, choices, and fostering friendship.

The Community Park District of La Grange Park is proud to serve every individual regardless of age, background, or ability. This includes participants, families and staff that are immunocompromised or too young to receive COVID vaccines. We are so very proud that our community has consistently supported us in doing what we can to provide programming for all, and we appreciate your continued efforts to maintain safe and welcoming spaces for our community to learn, grow, and play.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact Jessica Cannaday, executive director at 708-354-4580 or email jcannaday@communityparkdistrict.org.
