April 6, 2027 Consolidated Election for Park District Commissioner

Prospective Candidates seeking the office of Park Commissioner for the Community Park District of La Grange Park for the Consolidation Election to be held on April 6, 2027 may pick up packets at the Community Park District Recreation Center Administrative Office at 1501 Barnsdale Road, La Grange Park, IL beginning Tuesday, August 25, 2026 at 8:30am. Admirative Office Hours are 8:30am-5pm Monday-Friday. Each candidate is urged to seek legal counsel to determine individual requirements for running for elected office.

Potential candidates may begin circulating petitions on Tuesday, August 25, 2026.

The consolidated election will take place on Tuesday, April 6, 2027. There are currently two Community Park District of La Grange Park Board Commissioner seats up for election. Candidates must be registered voters and live within the Community Park District of La Grange Park boundaries. The Board of Commissioners is comprised of five volunteers who serve at large for four-year terms and represent the residents of the Community Park District of La Grange Park.

Serving without compensation, elected or appointed park district board members provide leadership to further the mission and vision of the park district.  They establish and adopt policies, establish and adopt an annual tax levy, approve and monitor operational and capital expenditures, develop and maintain long-range plans, and oversee the Executive Director.

Candidates can begin circulating petitions Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2026.

Candidate nomination papers may be filed Nov. 16 through Nov. 23, 2026 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. at the Community Park District of La Grange Park Recreation Center, located at 1501 Barnsdale Road in La Grange Park.

Exclusive Park Use Requires a Permit

Park District amenities are available for use on a first-come, first-served basis for the recreational enjoyment La Grange Park residents. Exclusive use of tennis courts, pavilions, basketball courts, etc., must be approved by the Community Park District and a permit must be issued. *For profit use of Community Park District amenities (ie. fitness classes, private instructions, and other paid programming not sanctioned by the park district) without a permit are strictly prohibited. * Click here for permit and reservation information.
