The Community Park District of La Grange Park is an independent unit of local government chartered by the State of Illinois. It is governed by a Board of Commissioners consisting of five unpaid La Grange park residents who are elected to serve four-year terms. The Board meets on the second Monday of each month to set policy and to oversee Park District operations. Click on the “Park Board” link for more information about park District governance.
The Community Park District employs a professional Executive Director to manage its activities. He is assisted by seven full-time staff members who are responsible for maintaining 26 acres of park land, three buildings, and approximately 350 recreation programs with a total of over 8,000 participants per year. La Grange Park is a very special place where well over 100 volunteers help to carry out various recreation programs.
